Sight Words

We will learn one to two sight words each week.  I will give your child a weekly sight word test to see what words they have mastered.  You will receive a copy of this test so you know what words your child has mastered and what words they still need work on.  As of right now, your child is just responsible for reading the word in isolation within 3 seconds to show mastery.

​Reading

Please read the book in your child’s book bag every night as well as signing the completed space.  By reading the leveled reader every night with your child he/she is recognizing/finding letters and starting to find sight words that may be in the reader. Your child is also starting to understand the concepts of print.

Math

In math, we are working on a number a day.  As of now, we have covered numbers 1 through 7.  Your child should be able to count to 10, recognize numbers 0 to 7, and count objects in a group up to 10.  Your child should also be able to write their numbers to 10 using correct number formation.  Please work with your child at home on these skills.
